Support the re-introduction of House Bill 1751 to provide for monitoring and enforcement of proper medical care to employees hurt on the job.

ISSUES:

*Georgia employees is denied proper medical care and forced back to work.

*Georgia employees had disability payments cut off without company providing proper medical care.

*Georgia employees experienced medical irregularity by company doctors.

*Georgia employees faced undue influence and unfair treatment by employers and insurance companies.

*Georgia employees has had their vacations payments withheld.

Many Georgia employees who are hurt on the job have to face the monetary power and extended influence companies wield around. Many employees still face the pain of not receiving disability income or proper medical care despite going to court. This is really happening to many employees in Georgia today.

Should companies be rewarded for improper treatment to employees hurt on the job?

Please work with Georgia Employee Association (GEA) to ensure that proper legislation is passed.

Georgia Employee Association is asking everyone to contact Wal-mart at
1-800-963-8442 to support Don Allen's case. Ask Wal-mart to compensate Don Allen for all his past pain and suffering. Don Allen was a Wal-mart employee at the Tucker, GA store when a 27 inch t.v. fail on his head. He has been denied worker's compensation benefits for a period of 6 years.

Don Allen's case will be going in front of the State Board of Worker's Compensation soon, 270 Peachtree Street, NW, Atlanta, GA, 30303. This case might influence how Georgia's injured employees are treated in the future.

Local activists are planning upcoming rallies/protests against the Wal-mart in Tucker, Georgia.

Wal-mart, who is one of the largest employers in the world, have carried on a practice of mistreating their current employees and denying benefits to their injured employees.

Wal-mart employees currently have many major lawsuits pending especially a class-action on behalf of female employees. Wal-mart has several other lawsuits concerning denials of overtime and other benefits due to their employees.

It's time to hold companies like Wal-mart accountable on how they treat their employees.

Please contact GEA if you know of any employees who are employed with Wal-mart that fit the following categories:

Employees going through discrimination;
Employees who were wrongfully terminated;
Employees who was injured on the job while employed with Wal-mart.

Georgia Employee Association is working with the Dekalb County, Georgia Chapter of the NAACP to change laws regarding Georgia as a "RIGHT TO WORK STATE." Because of the current failing economy it is imperative that we change the laws in the state of Georgia. We are looking for a legislator to sponsor the bill this session.
